Hi, I’m Melissa. I write poems, essays and humor. I recently finished a middle grade fiction book. I also paint. Bold geometrics are my specialty.

I graduated from Binghamton University with a BA in English literature and poetry. After 10 years in magazine publishing, I switched to freelance editorial work, had two kids, and tried other things: acting, blogging, community activism and talent management. I still do most of those things, but mainly I write. And paint. And procrastinate while listening to NPR. Sorry, it’s confusing to me too.
